As of September 2023, the Indonesian government has received *** Letters of Intent (LOI) from domestic investors for the development of Nusantara. Furthermore, there were ** LOIs for investment from Singapore. LOI is a document outlining the preliminary agreement between two or more parties before a legal agreement is finalized.
The Indonesian government is currently developing the Capital City of Nusantara (Ibu Kota Nusantara/IKN), which is located in East Kalimantan, to replace Jakarta as its national capital. The development of Nusantara has started at the end of 2022 and is aimed to be fully completed by 2045. The government estimated that Nusantara would be ready to be occupied and inaugurated in 2024.
