India launched the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP) in 2019, with the aim of reducing particulate pollution by up to ** percent by 2024 from 2017 levels. Between FY 2019/20 and FY 2024/25, the NCAP disbursed approximately Rs * Cr to *** non-attainment cities. Mumbai was allocated the most funds during this period, at roughly Rs *** Cr, of which just over ** percent was utilized. In comparison, Bengaluru had utilized less than ** percent of the funds it was allocated.
