By 2030, the South Korean government plans to equip all of its road infrastructure with Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems (C-ITS). Such technology would enable information transfer among vehicles and the surrounding infrastructure; this is expected to greatly improve the efficiency of traffic control, and is generally mentioned as an integral part of making autonomous vehicles a reality.
