In the 22nd National Assembly election held in South Korea on April 10, 2024, the liberal opposition won a landslide victory, with the Democratic Party (DP) garnering *** seats through direct elections in local districts. The ruling People Power Party (PPP) won ** seats. Together with the seats won by its satellite party through proportional representation, the DP secured a total of *** seats in the 300-member unicameral parliament. The conservative alliance between the PPP and its satellite party won *** seats.
