As of December 2023, a survey among Americans revealed that nearly 40 percent of respondents wrote their passwords down, while 35 percent relied on memory to remember passwords. Other common password mistakes in the United States included using the same passwords across multiple accounts and storing them on computer, as mentioned by 32 percent and 24 percent of respondents, respectively.
