In 2020, a survey carried out among prisoners incarcerated for wildlife crimes revealed that the majority share of ** percent carried out poaching activities for financial reasons. Following this were social reasons at ** percent, whereby the offender carried out an order from their employer or agreed to do a favor for a friend or relative.
