The labor force, or the total number of people employed and unemployed, was estimated at around 141 million in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) in 2024 and was expected to decrease for women and men in the following two years. Between 2019 and 2024, the labor force in the region decreased continuously. Men accounted for approximately 52 percent of the workforce in CEE in 2024.
