In the United States, the leading reason among ETF investors for not adding Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) themed ETFs to their portfolio was a lack of consistent methodology and framework. Limited/No availability on a trading platform was the second most prevailing factor to U.S.-based investors, with ** percent of respondents stating this as an influencing factor. This was ** percent higher than the global total. In Europe, the primary deterrent from ESG ETF investing outlined by ** percent of respondents was due to a lack of client interest. The most popular reason driving Chinese ETF investors away from ESG inclusion was due to the cost of ESG ETF investing.
