In 2023, the total installed production capacity of Colombia's chemical industry amounted to 1.4 billion metric tons per year. Polypropylene was the product with the largest installed capacity in the country's petrochemical sector, representing 41.45 percent of the total. This was followed by polyvinyl chloride (PVC), which represented 36.51 percent of the total installed petrochemical production capacity that year.
