The source asked survey participants what their level of interest in the Six Nations was. Both those who answered "somewhat interested" or "this is one of my top interests" were deemed to have an interest in the sport.

When surveyed in 2023 about the Six Nations rugby championship, over half of respondents from Wales answered that they were interested in the tournament. This was the highest share of interest among the nationalities questioned. The country where the Six Nations had the second-highest level of interest was Northern Ireland, which, alongside the Republic of Ireland, makes up the Irish national rugby team. Meanwhile, less than one-fifth of the Italian population claimed to have an interest in the competition.
