The South-East Asia (SEA) area had state-owned investors (SOI) as of 2023. Singapore accounted for more than half of the total number of SOIs in the region having more SOIs than Malaysia which ranked second. This is unlike the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) area where the number of SOIs was more evenly distributed among nations.
