As of 2023, ** percent of respondents in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland believed the principle 'the NHS should be free at the point of delivery' should definitely still apply to NHS services, with a further ** percent reporting they believe it should probably still apply. Support for these three founding principles of the NHS was found to be very high among respondents, with only a small share of respondents believing they shouldn't apply in 2023.
