A survey conducted in 2022 in the United States found that adult respondents who had COVID-19 and long COVID symptoms experienced more hardships than those who never had COVID-19 or did not have post-COVID symptoms. As of December 2022, nearly 27 percent of U.S. adults who suffered from long COVID symptoms reported financial insecurity, while about 29.1 percent experienced mental health hardship.
