Most of the property assessed clean energy (PACE) financing provided since the creation of the program in the United States was for energy efficiency projects. PACE is a mechanism that allows borrowing money for upgrades and renovation work that may reduce the environmental impact of commercial and residential buildings. Apart from energy efficiency improvements, a further ** percent of loans for commercial buildings provided by C-PACE were for renewable energy installations. Meanwhile, ** percent of the lending provided by R-PACE had the goal to make buildings more resilient, and * percent to improve their water efficiency. Since 2015, the value of PACE investment for commercial and residential buildings has been growing a lot.
