A survey conducted in 2021 found that not knowing how to use the internet was the main reason for not accessing the web in Colombia. However, the biggest difference among residents of different regions for not accessing the internet was the local availability of the service: almost ** percent of those living in dispersed villages and rural localities claimed there was no internet coverage in the area against only * percent of those living in capital cities claiming the same. Additionally, respondents residing in capital cities had a much better connection to the web than those living in more isolated areas.
