An August 2025 survey revealed that the main worries Mexicans face are crime and insecurity. 49.5 percent of people surveyed. That does not come as a surprise when the victimization rate was over 22,000 victims per every 100,000 inhabitants in 2022. Moreover, violence and crime have an estimated economic cost of almost five billion Mexican pesos per year.
