The distance travelled by motorcycles registered in Germany rose between 2010 and 2016. In 2017, the German Federal Highway Research Institute, reported significantly lower number of kilometers driven by motorcycles due to a change in the calculation vehicle mileage. Following this change, motorcycle mileage continued growing slightly, albeit from a lower base until 2020, when the volume of kilometers driven dropped off by about *** percent before rising again in 2022 to *** billion kilometers.
