In 2019, men in Mexico spent nearly 69 of their working time in remunerated work and only 28 percent on non-remunerated work for the household. By contrast, over two-thirds of the working hours of their female counterparts were dedicated to non-remunerated work, and only 31 percent to remunerated one. Such disparity supposes a major obstacle for female economic autonomy.
