The data is weighted to the South African national statistics service "Statistics South Africa's" population estimates, which allows for an accurate representation of 27.76 million South Africans.
To ensure a nationally representative sample, the survey is based on enumerated area (EA) sampling.
The source adds that users included here are social media users who used Twitter's platform yesterday and today (at the time the survey was conducted).
Percentage points exceeding 100 percent are probably due to rounding.

According to a survey conducted in 2021, over ** percent of the social media users who used Twitter yesterday or today lived in Gauteng. North West and Western Cape had the second largest share of Twitter users, with almost ** percent and ** percent, respectively.
