According to a survey of parents conducted in March 2020 and April 2021 in the United States, the share of children using tablets increased from ** percent to ** percent between 2020 and 2021. This increase in device usage happened during the global COVID-19 pandemic, which forced students to rely on their electronic devices to attend remote schooling and to socialize online. Smartphone usage increased to interest ** percent of children under 11 years of age in the U.S. in 2021.
