The source provides the following information: "The results of the ranking Brand of the Year 2020 (Marke des Jahres 2020) are based on a total of over 900,000 online interviews conducted daily by YouGov from September 1, 2020 to August 31, 2021 for the brand performance tracker YouGov BrandIndex, and representative of the German population aged 18 years and older. In this case the index figure or the points refer to the mean performance among those familiar with the brand, and is based on six different assessment dimensions: general impression, quality, price-performance-ratio, customer satisfaction, readiness to recommend and employer image. Positive and negative consumer reviews referring to individual assessment dimensions are offset against each other in advance. Therefore, the index figure used for this ranking is a mean share among the net promoters among all those familiar with a brand. Additionally, only those brands were allowed in the ranking which were tracked at least in the last 100 days (including on August 31, 2021 in the online surveys for the YouGov BrandIndex, and where the supported public awareness reached at least 20 percent among the German population ages 18 years and older.)鈥
