Clean energy sources could account for more than ** percent of electricity generation in the United States by 2030, in a low emissions scenario. The projection takes into account the policiy provisions under the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), approved in August 2022. Under the IRA, between ** and ** percent of electricity generation could originate from clean sources by the end of the decade, in contrast to ** to ** percent forecast under existing policy at the time.
