In the majority of the analyzed countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, the share of the population living in extreme poverty was expected to grow in 2022 compared to 2021. Colombia presented the most adverse situation, as extreme poverty in the country was expected to increase by 2.5 percentage points. On the flip side, it was forecasted that extreme poverty would decline in four countries: the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Panama, and Bolivia.
