The main equity capital market (ECM) in the United Kingdom (UK) the London Stock Exchange (LSE) was the primary facilitator of value creation, when comparing the first quarters of each year between 2019 and 2022.
In the first quarter of 2022, ** percent of the volume accounted for **** percent of the value raised through deals executed on the LSE. The remaining value was generated through the alternative investment market (AIM). The AIM is a sub-market of the LSE which allowed smaller companies to raise capital from the public market. The value generated via the AIM is lower than the LSE: In 2020, half of the the deals executed accounted for **** percent of the value raised.
