Among all provinces in China, with over 143 gigawatts of prospective onshore wind power, Inner Mongolia was planning to install the most wind power capacity. With its flat and vast landscape and low population density, it is a very suitable location for wind energy generation. As of July 2025, Inner Mongolia's prospective onshore wind power capacity has increased to 143,522 megawatts.
