Changes in hospitalizations because of health issues due to substance consumption during the outbreak of COVID-19 differed depending on the substance type. In 2019, there were around hospitalizations involving stimulants, while this number increased to * in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. This graph shows the number of people who were hospitalized in Canada because of substance consumption, in the period from March to September 2019 and March to September 2020, by substance type.
