The source adds the following information:
''Proved reserves of crude oil (including lease condensate) are the estimated quantities of all liquids defined as crude oil that geological and engineering data demonstrate with reasonable certainty to be recoverable in future years from reservoirs under existing economic and operating conditions.''
In 2021, oil reserves in West Africa amounted to slightly over ** billion barrels, including lease condensates. The oil-producing countries considered were Benin, Cameroon, Cote d'Ivoire, Ghana, Niger, and Nigeria. Generally, crude oil reserves in the region registered minimal decreases from 2013 onwards.
