According to a survey that was conducted in Japan in August 2021, more than ** percent of male respondents in the age group 60 to 69 years old stated that they think women should be the ones to do the housework and childcare. The younger the respondents were, the smaller the share of them who agreed with this attitude. Of the respondents between 20 and 29 years old, almost ** percent agreed.
