China is by far the world's largest producer of cement. China's share of global cement production was gradually increasing between 2015 and 2020, until decreasing in 2022: in 2020, it accounted for a 57.2 percent share of the global production volume of cement, compared to 51.4 percent of production in 2015. As of 2022 China accounted for a 51.1 percent share of global cement production.
