North Africa has the largest natural gas reserves in Africa. As of 2019, the region accounted for nearly ** percent of the continent's reserves of natural gas. West Africa followed, making up around ** percent of the total, while Southern Africa had ** percent of Africa's reserves. Nigeria, Algeria, and Mozambique are the countries with the largest natural gas reserves on the continent.
