Non-health annuities saw a dramatic decrease in 2020, with European companies reporting a mean fall of ** in gross written premiums (GWP) for this segment. Health insurance saw a slight increase in GWP of **** percent - the highest of any life insurance segment. However, overall the trend was negative, with only two segments reporting any kind of growth, and the level of growth being only slightly above zero in both cases.
