In 2019, over half of respondents from Portugal said that they would be willing to replace meat products with plant-based substitutes, provided these substitutes were made without genetically modified organisms. This was the highest share of respondents from all of the * countries in which the survey was carried out. Uncertainty about these products was highest among respondents from Lithuania and Spain, where ** percent of respondents each said they do not know if they would. In of the * countries the share of respondents that did not know if they would was twenty percent or higher.
