From 2017 to 2019, most of the harvested agricultural land in Sub-Saharan Africa was for cereal production, with close to billion hectares. Pulses, roots, and tubers followed with billion hectares of harvested land. Moreover, it is forecast that in 2029 the harvested area for all the listed commodity groups would increase. The exception, however, was with land dedicated to all other commodities.
