The production of packaging paper and board in CEPI member countries totaled **** million metric tons in 2024 - an increase from the previous year. Containerboard represented the bulk of packaging paper and board production in Europe. While the online shopping boom has fueled the production of packaging paper and board in recent years, digitalization has heavily impacted the graphic paper sector. Between 2015 and 2024, graphic paper production in CEPI countries fell by more than ** percent. The decline of graphic paper has also been experienced globally.
