"This indicator is based on the overall number of overnights of both resident and non-resident tourists in hotels and similar establishments and refers to the relationship between existing capacity to provide accommodation services to visitors and the extent to which it is used. The net occupancy rate of bed-places is obtained by dividing the total number of overnight stays by the number of the bed places on offer (excluding extra beds) and the number of days when the bed-places are actually available for use (net of temporary closures).".
As of 2019, the occupancy rate of bed-places in hotels and similar establishments in Angola declined to **** percent. It kept a descending trend and reached the lowest level since 2015. That year, nearly ** percent of available hotel beds in the country were occupied. Overall, Angola has been recording a decrease in the number of international visitors. As of 2019, *** thousand tourist arrivals were registered in the country.
