In 2019, the governorate of Tunis reported the highest number of stillbirths in Tunisia with *** cases. Sfax and Kairouan followed with *** and *** cases, respectively. The lowest number of stillborn children was reported in the governorate of Manouba and contributed to *** single case. The numbers in the other governorates fluctuated significantly. The number of residents per governorate and its size played a role in the reported numbers. However, the actual figures might differ significantly since around ** percent of the stillbirths in the country would not be reported or registered.
