The European questionnaire on Information and Communication Technologies Data reveals that there exists a disparity between the internet usage of people according to gender. This disparity although present in most countries, differs widely in its severity.
By 2020, 62 percent of female internet users in across the European Union (EU-27) used the internet to look up health information on the internet. Among men this share was lower with only 50 percent. Bulgaria, Poland, and Italy were among the countries with the lowest share of men and women searching for health information online. The opposite was the case for the Netherlands, Denmark, and Germany.
