In 2024, net cross-border merger and acquisition (M&A) purchases by Japanese acquirers amounted to around **** billion U.S. dollars. In 2019, the net M&A purchase value peaked at almost *** billion U.S. dollars, partly due to an M&A deal of the Japanese company Takeda Pharmaceutical.
