Around ** percent of respondents to a survey on post digitalization of homestays in India from 2019 to 2020 stated that they booked homestays through digital travel portals. Furthermore, ** percent of the respondents stated they personally visited homestays to book for their stay in the country.

Homestay is a mode of hospitality whereby guests stay at a private residence. The length of stay as well as the size of the accommodation vary.
