Sweden, Norway, and Iceland had the most family-friendly policies in Europe, according to a study published in 2019. The analysis took four aspects into consideration: paid leave available to mothers, paid leave reserved for fathers, childcare enrolment under the age of , childcare enrolment between age and school age. As of 2016, Sweden offered ** paid weeks to mothers and **** paid weeks to fathers. Norway, instead, had longer paid leaves for mothers (45 weeks) and shorter for fathers (***), compared to Sweden. Sweden and Norway also had some of the highest childcare enrollments. By contrast, Switzerland was deemed to have the least-friendly family policies in Europe.
