A basic electronic signature confirms the authorship, but does not guarantee the immutability of the document after signing, and therefore does not guarantee its legal significance.

Enhanced qualified digital signature (EQDS) is the most protected from forgery. Only domestic encryption methods used in the EQDS. It consists of two parts: the distribution package, which is installed directly on the working computer, and a physical token with a USB input, on which the verification certificate of the key is recorded.

An enhanced non-qualified electronic signature is created using special software (cryptographic protection tools) and the private key of the electronic signature.

Citation formats

Digital signatures were the most commonly employed mean of information security among Russian companies. In 2020, roughly ** percent of Russian companies employed basic digital signatures to keep the data secure.
