A survey conducted in Japan in August 2024 revealed that **** percent of male respondents in their twenties and forties who owned smartphones that were equipped with the FeliCa technology used mobile electronic money. The utilization rate of mobile e-money was lower among female respondents in almost all age groups, except for individuals aged 10 to 19. FeliCa is a contactless IC card technology that enables mobile payments with smartphones and smartcards.
