The participation of Latin America and the Caribbean in the global solar photovoltaic energy capacity has increased consistently throughout the past decade. In 2024, the region accounted for **** percent of the capacity worldwide. Although still shy, this represents a considerable improvement from less than *** percent recorded until 2015. Latin America's solar PV capacity surpassed 85 gigawatts in 2023.
