According to a September 2020 survey of adults in the United States, the majority of people who identify as lesbian, gay, or bisexual have experienced some form of online harassment. Nearly 70 percent of LGB responders have encountered online harassment, against four in ten straight respondents. About half of lesbian, gay, and bisexual adults reported more severe forms of digital abuse, with only 17 percent of LBG encountering less severe forms of cyber bullying.
