As of March 2021, the 5G spectrum auction in Brazil was projected to generate between three and 3.5 billion U.S. dollars for the government of that South American country. Additionally, the winning telecommunication providers were expected to invest around 32 billion dollars in the spectrum bands – of 700 MHz, 2,3 GHz, 3,5 GHz, and 26 GHz – to be auctioned by the end of July 2021. Brazil established 2028 as its deadline for full-scale commercial deployment of 5G. This country planned to have at least 48,000 kilometers of highways with 5G technology by that year.
