In Hawaii, the median rent was about U.S. dollars, over ***Â U.S. dollars higher than the national average. At the other end of the spectrum was South Dakota, where renters paid about *** U.S. dollars for the median new lease. Overall, more than half of the states saw rental rates increase year-on-year.
