Alexander Pushkin was named the greatest poet in the world by the majority of Russians as of 2021. Next was Mikhail Lermontov, whose literary achievements were recognized by 43 percent of respondents. Both poets represented the Golden Age of Russian Poetry, a term traditionally referring to authors from the first half of the 19th century.
