Smart health devices, such as fitness trackers and blood pressure monitors, are the most-owned connected devices as of now by French consumers. Around a quarter of consumers consider themselves interested in using devices specialized in security and home automation at some point in the future.

Home automation is the set of IT, electronic, and telecommunications techniques that aim to improve the comfort of consumers on a daily basis. These systems control and optimize the management of energy, heating, lighting, and security within buildings, particularly so-called smart homes. Home automation also extends to entertainment, notably with the arrival of smart tv, televisions connected to the Internet that allow direct access to online video streaming platforms.

Connected objects

Connected objects are becoming more and more important in the everyday life of the French population, and sometimes in unexpected areas. The issue of energy is at the heart of many concerns, and the answers are multiple. In France, the sector of energy management in connected homes is growing exponentially and should become more popular in the future. At the city level, projects such as smart grids have been given priority. These smart grids aim to optimize and adjust the flow of electricity according to the actual consumption of consumers, thus enabling them to save money and limit energy losses.
