The prevalence of heavy episodic drinking (HED) in Latin America and the Caribbean decreased in the first four months of the COVID-19 pandemic (March to June 2020), in comparison to 2019, according to a survey carried out in the region. Nevertheless, among those who did experience HED in the period, nearly ** percent of respondents did not seek for help, up from a share of **** percent in the previous year.
