In 2020, over * patients were transferred after a TB notification to a different health facility. By contrast, approximately a million patients were not transferred. Of the total transfers, the majority occurred within a district, while only a 36 thousand cases were transferred between states.
Transfer of patients is a crucial part after diagnosis to ensure that all notified cases are on treatment without any interruptions and are completed successfully. This guarantees higher efficacy of the given treatment.
